Proper storage and reconstitution of lyophilized peptides is the single most critical factor in maintaining the structural integrity of your research materials.
Lyophilized State Storage
When you receive your UK research peptides from Purivo Biolabs, they will arrive in a lyophilized (freeze-dried) state. In this state, the peptide is highly stable. Unopened vials should be immediately transferred to a freezer at -20°C for long-term storage (up to 24 months).
The Reconstitution Process
Reconstitution must be performed using a sterile solvent, universally Bacteriostatic Water (0.9% Benzyl Alcohol), to prevent bacterial degradation during multi-dose studies. 1. Allow the peptide vial to reach room temperature before reconstitution to prevent condensation from introducing non-sterile moisture. 2. Swab the stopper with a 70% Isopropyl Alcohol Prep Pad. 3. Inject the bacteriostatic water slowly, allowing it to run down the side of the glass. Never spray solvent directly onto the powder, as sheer force can damage delicate peptide bonds. 4. Gently swirl the vial. Do not shake.
Post-Reconstitution Storage
Once reconstituted, the peptide is suspended in liquid and its degradation clock begins. Store reconstituted vials at 4°C (refrigerated) away from UV light. Most peptides will remain stable for 14-28 days in this state.
